San Diego is perfect for surfing lessons!

What could be more Californian than surfing! If you are a beginner, your instructor will have you surfing quicker than you thought possible! If you are a seasoned surfer, you will learn some new skills!

Our San Diego surfing lessons are taught at some of the best beaches around, including one that Surfer Magazine recently named as the Best Beach for Learning Surfing (La Jolla Shores). The waves range in size from beginner-friendly to 'sweeeeeet-dude'!

Our San Diego area surfing lessons for beginners start in the sand with instruction on paddling, how to 'pop-up' on your board, stance and balance. Your instructor will cover ocean safety, picking waves and of course, surfing etiquette. The it's into the surf! With your instructor's hands-on help, you practice catching waves and standing up on your board. You'll be shredding in no time!

All Year - We offer lessons all year around and provide wetsuits to keep you comfortable in the water. Come join us for fall and winter surfing. The locals know that is when it is the BEST!

What to Bring/What to Expect

What to bring: swim suit, towel, and sunscreen. You can leave a towel and change of clothes at our shop. What to expect: we meet at our shop, where you will check in, sign waivers, etc. We will outfit you with a wetsuit or you can bring your own. Then we will take you down to the surf area with your board.

Our instructors are CPR and First Aid certified.

Confirmation & Travel Voucher

For every confirmed booking you will receive an e-mail with a link to your E-Ticket Vouchers - when your booking is confirmed. Print both vouchers on your home/ office printer. Please present these E-Ticket vouchers at the Tour Office.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled tour, you will forfeit the entire amount of the tour. There are no refunds for no-shows or leaving a trip early. We reserve the right to cancel your trip due to unfavorable conditions including weather** and ocean conditions. (Please see the section below about weather, cancellations and trip planning.)

** A Word about the Weather, Cancellations and Planning Your Trip

Though San Diego weather is typically very mild and dry, it can rain and be overcast, even at the beach in the summer. Bluntly put, we don't let a little rain or clouds stop us, and do not give refunds if you elect to cancel due to weather. We can and do cancel tours when the rain is heavy, winds are high, surf is big and so forth, but it is our call. Please know that we want you to enjoy your tour and have your safety and health in mind. And we will advise you on the clothing to bring and offer the special equipment you need to be comfortable (e.g. wetsuits when appropriate). But only you know your preferences and weather tolerance for outdoor adventures! Help us plan a tour that suits you! For example, if you absolutely cannot tolerate the beach when it is overcast, book your tour later in the day! Summer weather in La Jolla is always warm (over 65 degrees), but often overcast in the morning. Those clouds are typically gone in the afternoon. (Oddly enough, winter days are crystal-clear in the morning, it is a beautiful time of year!) Feel free to talk with us in-depth about your tour and we�ll plan something fills the bill for you!
